I am an academic working at the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne. My interests are in teacher education, leadership literacy and mentoring. I lead a project called UniConnected, an innovative way of building partnerships between students, universities and industry and enterprise.

I am dedicated to optimism! In times when everything seems bleak, whether on the global stage or at home, gratitude and hope can keep us buoyant. It can be challenging sometimes to feel like there is something worth looking forward to, in those moments, I look for the small points of light. Like a candle flame that chases away the darkness of a room or the rosy fingers of dawn, I am reminded that every day brings the possibility of a new choice, a different choice. If our lives are the culmination of the choices we make – choose wisely.

This is why education is a central theme in all that I do. Whether I am working with future teachers at the Faculty of Education at UniMelb or I am coaching or consulting with schools and systems, education means possibility. It is the pathway to choices and to freedom.
